Vermont Farm Water Quality Grants

Who can apply

  • Small businesses
  • Vermont only

Vermont farms must have gross farm income of at least $15,000 and be subject to the state's Required Agricultural Practices. Some custom operators and other organizations providing on-farm water-quality services may qualify with agency confirmation. Projects must involve lasting infrastructure, equipment or conservation improvements; short-lived annual practices are not eligible.

About this grant

Vermont's Farm and Forest Viability Program offers reimbursement grants for long-term farm improvements that protect water quality. Awards can reach $50,000 for projects such as manure storage, nutrient-management equipment and runoff controls. The state-funded program generally requires a dollar-for-dollar match, with waivers available by request.
