Who can apply
- Small businesses
New and expanding place-based small businesses in eligible Michigan downtowns and commercial districts. Businesses do not apply directly: a local government, Downtown Development Authority, Michigan Main Street organization or similar group selects up to two businesses per round and applies on their behalf.
About this grant
Reimbursement-only grants of up to $25,000 per project for small businesses opening or expanding in Michigan downtowns. Local organizations run their own selection and submit applications to MEDC during the funding round. More than $5.9 million has been awarded since 2019.
