- Small businesses
For-profit West Virginia-based small businesses satisfying federal SBIR/STTR requirements. Phase 0 requires proof of federal proposal submission; matching awards require an eligible active federal award and the program's research-location, reporting and continued-state-presence commitments.
About this grant
The fund provides $2,500 Phase 0 proposal-submission grants and Phase I/II matching grants. Statutory matching limits are $100,000 for Phase I and $100,000 per year for up to two Phase II years. Actual matches depend on available funds and are generally below the full federal award.
