SBA lenders
Lender totals are not available yet. This directory will show results after the first successful import of SBA's public loan data.
This directory is not a recommendation or an SBA endorsement. Past approvals do not establish current availability, eligibility, rates or approval odds. SBA loans must be repaid.
Methodology and sources
SBA 7(a) and 504 FOIA data and SBA data dictionary (Excel).
Lenders are ranked by number of recorded approvals, then total approved dollars. The 7(a) lenders and 504 Certified Development Companies (CDCs) are identified separately.
Includes approvals from fiscal year 2022 onward in the two current FOIA files. Federal fiscal years run October 1 through September 30. Cancelled loans are excluded; approvals awaiting funding are included. The latest fiscal year may be incomplete. Each retained source row counts as one loan, not one business.
Amounts use GrossApproval: the gross approved 7(a) loan amount and the SBA-backed debenture amount for 504, not the full 504 project financing. These amounts are not disbursements or outstanding balances. Average is total divided by loan count; median is the middle approved amount, averaging the two middle amounts for even counts.
State and county totals use the project location. City totals use the borrower's recorded city only when the borrower and project states match. City names are normalized for case and spacing; spelling variants are not merged. Lender state is the lender's recorded address state, not the area it serves.
Industries use two-digit NAICS sectors, combining 31–33, 44–45 and 48–49. Missing or unrecognized NAICS codes are grouped as Unknown industry. Lender names are grouped by program, recorded name and lender state; mergers and name changes are not reconciled.
Only aggregates are published. Borrower names, street addresses, ZIP codes and loan-level records are never included in this directory. Groups and lender-industry cells with fewer than 5 loans are omitted, so displayed subtotals may not add to the overall total.
City pages require at least 50 loans and 3 lenders with publishable totals. Pages with fewer than 100 loans or 5 such lenders are noindex and excluded from the sitemap. State and city pages show up to 25 lenders; the national page shows up to 50. Each lender shows up to 3 industries by loan count.
SBA publishes the FOIA files quarterly, typically one month after quarter end. We check for a new snapshot monthly and keep the previous successful import if an update fails. Data as of is SBA's snapshot date; imported is when we processed it.
