About this grant

The grant component of USDA Rural Development's Community Facilities Direct Loan & Grant Program funds the purchase, construction or improvement of essential rural facilities, equipment and related project expenses. Examples include nonprofit health care, child care, public safety, libraries, museums and local food facilities. Grant assistance covers a graduated share of eligible costs rather than a stated national dollar amount. Begin with a Community Programs Specialist at the state Rural Development office; the program also offers loans and combined financing.
