About this grant

Section 523 grants support organizations that recruit, guide and supervise rural families building their own homes through mutual self-help. These are technical-assistance grants to eligible organizations; the separate home-financing loans to participating families are not the award listed here. Applications, including federal assistance and budget forms, are accepted year-round through local Rural Development offices. No dollar award range or matching requirement is stated on the program page.
