Details from the funder
Individuals or teams must compete on behalf of one or more legally established institutions, organizations or corporations, registering in the Entities category; independent individual entries are not eligible. Cash-winning entities must be incorporated in and maintain a primary place of business in the United States, and participants must be at least 18. A lead entity and point of contact are required for multiple-entity entries, and a free UEI is required. Federal entities, federal employees acting within official duties, HHS employees in a personal capacity, judges/competition personnel and their immediate families are excluded; other federal employees must consult ethics officials. Federal grant/cooperative-agreement/OT funds may support entries only consistently with their award terms and through the awardee entity, with any prize treated as program income; federal contract funds cannot support entries. Entries must agree to CCDI data-management/sharing and up to two meetings or workshops. Required data-transfer/use agreements and institutional certifications must be executed before Milestone 2. Only Milestone 1 winners may proceed to later milestones, and only successful Phase I entities may enter a future Phase II. Entries require sufficient intellectual-property rights and the specified nonexclusive NIH licenses; winner verification/payment documents are due within 14 business days.
